Introducing Jane Mical

Jane is a Registered Massage Therapist and is a member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. She loves her work and is dedicated to helping her patients live their lives to the fullest. She is experienced in treating lymphedema, axillary web syndrome (cording), post-operative issues, and soft tissue injuries.

In order to maintain an evidence-based practice, Jane has continued her educational pursuits to include obtaining a Bachelor of Science Honours in Biological Science from the University of Guelph, and a Master of Clinical Science in Interprofessional Pain Management from the University of Western Ontario. To ensure that her MLD-CDT methods are of the highest standard, Jane attends yearly review/re-certification courses with Vodder International.

Jane has taken specialized training in the Dr. Vodder method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage massage and Combined Decongestive Therapy (MLD-CDT), and attends reviews on a yearly basis to maintain her certification with the Vodder School International. Jane has pursued advanced training in lymphatic taping, scar release techniques, and axillary web syndrome/cording management. In addition to her lymphedema training, Jane also uses Swedish Massage, orthopaedic kinesio taping, dermoneuromodulation techniques, and low-grade joint mobilizations in her approach to her patients’ individual needs. Jane is genuinely engaged in helping her patients achieve their rehabilitation and wellness goals and has a wealth of self-care practices and tips that help optimize her patients’ recovery.

In her spare time, Jane likes getting outside and doing things in the fresh air, such as hiking with her family, camping, and working on her flowerbeds and edible garden. She is also the proud servant to Miss Minnie Wigglebottoms, a Boxer/Beagle rescue who knows exactly how to get extra chewies on demand.
